With multiple police departments housed in aging and undersized facilities across Salem, the city needed a new headquarters to bring 29 departments under one roof. The new City of Salem Police Station includes evidence storage, a crime lab, training spaces and the emergency operations center. The 104,000 SF building with an adjacent 77,000 SF parking garage also includes a community meeting room, lobby and outdoor plaza. The design is intended to balance an inviting civic building while maintaining secure facilities for police operations.

Alliant provided design assist mechanical construction services for the project, installing a VRF system including custom air handlers, energy recovery ventilators, hydronic boilers and air-side terminal units, finned tube radiators, and vacuum extraction arms.
