Union Journeyman Electrician
LOCATION: Portland
SALARY: $60 - IBEW Rate Scale

About the Job:
We are seeking a commercial electrical service technician to join our service and small projects team. If you have ever thought about joining the IBEW Local 48 here is your chance, and we can help you with that!

We will provide you with all the necessary tools and equipment to excel; including a van, gas card, laptop and more.
​
Essential Responsibilities:
​The Journeyman Electrician performs the following:
​

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial settings.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.

Install electrical components such as circuit breakers, disconnects, conduit, and wire.
-
Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and safely.

Troubleshoot electrical issues and make necessary repairs or replacements.

Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects that require multiple skill sets.

Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:
The candidate must possess the following skills and abilities:

Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license/certification in Oregon.

Prefer a minimum of 5 years of experience with commercial troubleshooting and small projects.

Controls and estimating experience are a plus.
-
Experience working as an electrician in commercial, or industrial settings.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Knowledge of high voltage systems and safety procedures.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong knowledge of the NEC.
-
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills.
-
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
