Service Administrator
What do you like most about your job?
I’ve enjoyed learning HVAC and plumbing terminology. It’s interesting to recognize building systems in everyday life based on what I’ve seen come through the Service department’s field quotes from technicians. It’s knowledge I never expected to gain, but it’s proven surprisingly valuable given how essential these systems are in modern buildings.

What did you do before you came to work here?
Worked remotely (in Portland) for about 2 years as a Project Coordinator for a PR company called Archer Education, based in San Diego. Their client base at the time was mostly universities and medical schools and I worked closely with a lot of their big customers. Awesome learning experience!

What do you like to do on the weekends?
You will likely find me tuning in for a good movie with friends (lately into horror, action, and most recently anime) or hanging at home with my kitten and partner, Nick. When it is nice out, I do love a good stroll around the neighborhood; I live right near Mt. Tabor Park in Southeast Portland. As soon as summer/warm weather hits, I will be camping most weekends if I can swing it.

Where did you go on your last vacation?
Before I started working at Alliant, I used my entire savings and traveled around Europe for 3-months with my younger sister – made it to Italy, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Next big vacation is Japan, I think!

What is something unique or surprising about you?
As of last year, I have Italian citizenship and can move anywhere in the EU.

When you were a little kid, what did you want to do when you grew up?
Own a fancy shoe shop and make fancy shoes. My child brain was really captivated by healed shoes specifically, which is funny because I hate wearing them now.

What is your claim to fame?
My grandma (RIP) is in the infamous Snuggie commercial from about 10 years ago – she became a model in her 80’s and I would see her on ads around New York when I lived there. Out of college, I moved to NYC and got a job at Buzzfeed and was living in NYC with the Snuggie queen herself. She was the best roommate.

Do you have any pets?
I just got a kitten in December – his name is Ralphie and he is a shorthaired orange tabby with the tiniest and pinkest nose you have ever seen. I am obsessed with him, but the parkouring off my body/climbing me like a tree and biting is getting a bit old. Looking forward to when he is an older, sleepy cat.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I am super into collecting small items/gadgets – especially miniature food. Last year I made some mini food magnets out of polymer clay and I am trying to tap into that hobby more this year. Come talk to me if you also love small things.

LUND
Mechanical Engineer
What do you like most about your job?
Working directly with the field staff. Having worked for mechanical contractors for 13 years, I’ve found that the 'design-build' approach is the leanest way to move a project from schematic design through commissioning. My time at a consulting firm made me realize how much smoother the process is when you're integrated with the team. It’s an invaluable experience to see how pipe and duct are actually installed, and working directly with the detailers ensures a seamless transition from shop drawings to the final installation.

What did you do before you came to work here?
I was a Senior Design Engineer and Project Manager at a local consulting firm. It gave me a great perspective on how consultants interact with the contractors who win the bid. Interestingly, I was the lead Mechanical Engineer on a large project that Alliant was awarded! It was a unique experience to work with the Alliant team from the 'outside in,' and it’s very exciting to be back on the contractor side.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
In the summer I try to tackle larger yard projects like building new planter beds or general landscaping. We also try to get out and camp as much as possible and take day trips to the coast or Hood River to get out of town and enjoy the views.

Where did you go on your last vacation?
Last year was our long 3-week vacation over to Netherlands and Germany. We were supposed to go to Oktoberfest in 2020 but then COVID happened. Our adventure began in Amsterdam and flew out of Munich. We went to so many museums and ate a great deal of delicious food. Some adventures included going to Zaanse Schans to see authentic Dutch windmills, wine tasting in Bacharach for well known Rieslings. My favorite part was going to Oktoberfest and experiencing the huge beer halls and multiple liters of lagers that stretched all day long.

Sports?
I tried baseball and basketball when I was younger and quickly realized I was absolutely horrible at both. My favorite sport now is snowboarding at Meadows or Timberline. Just listening to music while riding through fresh snow is the best.

When you were a little kid, what did you want to do when you grew up?
In high school I took several CAD classes and thought I wanted to be an architect since I spent a lot of time drawing houses. I even had a one-on-one meeting with the principal to help lay out his future house in Idaho, which was a proud moment for me.

What is your claim to faim?
My homebrewing. I’ve won several competitions, including a Pro-Am with Widmer Brothers. Getting to brew my own recipe on their commercial system and seeing it served at the Oregon Brewers Festival was a huge highlight.

Do you have any pets?
We have a 5-year-old yellow lab named Georgia. We picked her up on Christmas Eve of 2020 so she was a great present! We kept ourselves company while working from home for a couple years.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
My main hobby is brewing all types of alcohol—beer, mead, cider, and wine. I’ve been brewing for over 15 years and have accumulated all sorts of equipment that appeals to the engineering side of me.
Several years ago I converted a large chest freezer into a kegerator with 12 taps. I even have a TV above it that shows what’s on tap, similar to what you see at many bars. I enjoy entering local and out-of-state competitions and have won multiple Best of Show awards. One of my favorite parts is bringing beer to friends’ events or hosting parties.
