OMD Hillsboro Readiness Center
Hillsboro, OR
Work is currently underway on the new Oregon Military Department (OMD) Hillsboro Readiness Center, a modern, seismically resilient facility designed to support the Oregon National Guard for decades to come. The project includes a 45,000 SF readiness center with a drill hall, administrative offices, classrooms, commercial kitchen, fitness areas, storage, and tactical gear areas, along with a 20,000 SF vehicle and equipment storage and maintenance building. The facility will serve Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Regiment and Charlie Battery, 2nd Battalion, 218th Field Artillery Regiment.
Alliant Systems is serving as the design-build mechanical contractor, providing complete HVAC and plumbing design-build services for the project. The mechanical systems feature high-efficiency, all-electric equipment, central heat pump air-handling units, VAV distribution, and energy recovery ventilation to support the facility’s performance and operational needs. The project also incorporates extensive prefabrication, allowing Alliant to improve installation efficiency, quality, and coordination while supporting construction of this critical facility.
The project’s 20,000 SF equipment building includes pass-through bay doors and dedicated storage and maintenance areas for M777 howitzers, providing secure protection for critical military equipment. Located just one mile east of Hillsboro’s original 1954 armory, the new facility represents a significant investment in the Oregon National Guard’s long-standing presence in the community and is designed to support mission readiness for the next 50 years.
