Salem Health
Infrastructure Upgrades

Salem, Oregon

Alliant Systems has performed tenant improvement projects in over 1,300,000 square feet of continuously operable hospital space for Salem Health. The projects occurred at all hours and in all seven separate buildings on the Salem Health campus. Project types included a broad array of HVAC, plumbing, piping, medical gases, balancing and controls work. The team successfully executed several phases of work that involved utility shutdowns, including re-feeding the oxygen system within Building B to decommission the stand-alone oxygen plant and reconnect Building B to the new oxygen plant via the adjacent building. The team also led the decommissioning of Building B's chilled water plant and connected the building to the new Central Energy Plant, which required installation of a 1,000-ton chiller and cooling tower. 2,200’ of chilled water piping was routed from below an adjacent building to re-feed Building B.

These projects were all completed on time, on budget, and absolutely zero impacts to the hospital.
